After being employed by Carthage College for half of the summer so far, I have found that I accomplish pretty much nothing at work. In the fitness center I sit here and admire sweaty, grunting, disgusting men lift weight in order to obtain that “sexy bod” that every girl wants. How fun. The Career Center is almost just as fun. I sit there and annoyingly call alumni who have absolutely no desire to take our alumni survey. I apologize in advance to the alumni. It’s not like I really want to know what you’re doing with your life. When I’m not bothering alumni, I am browsing the internet, usually stuck on facebook or some other social networking site. As you can see, working for Carthage as a student worker is an awesome time. Instead of doing absolutely nothing with my time at work, I thought I would give this blogging crap a shot.
I have recently obtained a job as a student ambassador. The past few weeks I have been touring prospective students around campus. Let’s just say that Carthage is a pretty impressive school. If you are a student here consider yourself lucky. Did you know that cocoa is mixed with the mulch in order to make our campus smell like chocolate on windy days or that the statue of President Lincoln is one of three statues ever made in which the Pres is smiling?! Wow. This is what im paying to get! No no no… the state of Wisconsin pays for our flowers and such so my tuition money is not going towards new flowers and chocolate mulch. These are just a few of the random facts I have learned in the past few weeks about Carthage… and I’m sure there is more to come. I believe this is enough for today… check back later to learn more about the exciting life I live.
